6.2.1.5 (08-21-2024)

- Removed the option to launch PSO2 using GameGuard, since it no longer supports that anticheat.

6.2.1.4 (11-23-2023)

- Reverted the epic launch rewrite and fixed the original bug that caused me to want to rewrite it
- I'm reminded of a life lesson I clearly forgot - If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
- Classic version support for Epic Games is currently unavailable but we have a much deeper understanding of how it works now. It'll return properly in short time.

6.2.1.3 (11-23-2023)

- Added some more logic for catching weird Epic Game store errors

6.2.1.2 (11-22-2023)

- PSO2 Classic should now work in the Epic Games version the next time you start it! The Tweaker will do this automatically for you.
- Fixed a few rare bugs with how the Epic Games version launched, caused by the xigncode update.
- The Tweaker should now automatically fix more Epic Games issues.
- I can see you a few of you asking already - we are still working on trying to figure out how the Windows Store does it's DLC. Sorry!

6.2.1.1 (11-14-2023)

- Fixed a bug in the launching code rewrite that could cause the game to not launch if the selected PSO2 directory had spaces in it. (Too used to linux!) I've added spaces to my own game directory to make sure we check for this in the future. Sorry!

6.2.1.0 (11-7-2023)

- Added support for switching between GameGuard/Xigncode for all versions of the game. You can toggle this via the PSO2 Options window.
- Rewrote how we launch the Windows Store version of the game to hopefully solve a few issues.

6.2.0.2 (10-20-2023)

- Fixed a rare bug that could occur with the registry fix previously implemented in 6.2.0.2 which could cause it to not work. Better safe than sorry!

6.2.0.1 (10-8-2023)

- Added a registry fix for English patch Tweaker uses who have old versions of IE installed that prevented them from downloading things over HTTPS. You can read more about it by clicking here.
- Fixed the autoupdater. This one is actually on me, but luckily pushing out this fix now will allow it to propogate before any critical bugfixes are required.

6.2.0.0 (6-7-2023)

- Added a new method to bypass the PSO2 Classic check for PSO2NA Steam enjoyers who, for some reason, want to play base?
- This will do nothing if you only have NGS selected in the dropdown menu on the Tweaker settings

6.1.1.1 (2-26-2023)

- Fixed a rare Windows 11 bug
- Fixed the textbox outline picture not properly saving for themes

6.1.1.0 (2-26-2023)

- Mic check, 1, 2... Is this thing on? It's been a while!
- Various internal fixes/updates/rewrites to prepare for some expanded PSO2 settings stuff in the next version
- A few bugfixes for those super rare bugs. Shiny bugs?

6.1.0.8 (12-17-2021)

- (JP Only) Bugfix for ELS (the translation installer) that should make it work as intended every time.
- Various bugfixes relating to the quick bandaid job I did to get the patch/censor working.

6.1.0.7 (12-15-2021)

- The workaround to bypass the issue caused by this update is now complete.
- The JP translation patch will now work as expected.
- In addition, the Tweaker will continue to remove the censor for both versions of the game. The decision not to was based on the thought that it was only the censor file that SEGA was checking, but it turns out they were checking all of them.
- You don't need to do anything but update and then do the same things you did before the update.
- And just like that, the rains have ceased, and we have been graced with another beautiful day. But you are not here to see it.

6.1.0.6 (12-15-2021)

- The game now crashes if you don't have the original censor installed. The Tweaker will now download and install the default censor for a few maints to make sure this doesn't happen to people.

6.1.0.5 (11-30-2021)

- (JP Only) Updated ELS to have a basic GUI instead of a scary command line window

6.1.0.4 (7-15-2021)

- (JP Only) You can now disable backing up files when applying the fanpatch, for those who like to live on the edge and watch the world burn.

6.1.0.3 (7-2-2021)

- (JP Only) Support for token login (similar to the SEGA launcher method) before starting the game. You can enable it in Tweaker settings, which will also give you some additional information on it before enabling it.
- The AutoUpdater will now stay in front of the Tweaker (starting next update)
- General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.

6.1.0.2 (6-24-2021)

- (JP Only) Game update checks and Translation update checks are now seperately configurable in the PSO2 Tweaker settings
- (JP Only) Setting translation update checks to "Manual" will supress the translation install messages entirely, for those who don't use the patch at all.
- (JP Only) Only install the chonky PSO2 Classic fan patch if they actually have PSO2 Classic installed (No more huge backups if you only have NGS!)
- Features that are region specific are now disabled on the Tweaker Settings screen for the opposite region
- Fixed/Expanded some erroneous tooltips

6.1.0.1 (6-20-2021)

- Added support for NGS only installs for JP and NA via Tweaker Settings -> PSO2/PSO2:NGS Installation
- The above is bolded because the "Only install NGS" feature was not available for NA until now via Tweaker
- The game size goes from 100GB to 28GB/22GB, depending on your region
- Please please please PLEASE read the information that pops up when you change what version you have installed
- Although it has been tested extensively by a multitude of people, the downsizing system is still experimental. If you have harsh data caps or extremely slow internet, I'd recommend waiting a few days to make sure it works as intended before you use it.
- Updating will check to see what version you have installed and patch accordingly, skipping PSO2 Classic if you don't have it installed
- Tweaker will now ask the user during install which install type they want (NGS only or both)
- Tweaker now allows you to truly resize the NGS menus, using the Text/Window Size option. Keep in mind that this feature is not officially supported by SEGA (the stock launcher won't let you change it), so some menus may be cut off.
- You can also set the interface size (Weapon palette, tasks, etc) to Small or Large in the PSO2 Settings menu now
- Items in the plugins menu that replaced ice files are now automatically applied when toggled
- Disabling certain plugins will now redownload the original JP versions of those files
- "Fix Critical Files" for JP now downloads all critical PSO2 files
- General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.

6.0.5.7 (6-18-2021)

- Fixed an issue with the plugin menu for files that go in win32reboot (For example, the NGS font mod for non-English patches)
- "Fix PSO2 EXEs" in the troubleshooting menu has been changed to "Fix Critical Files"
- Clarified the "Check for Updates" in the Tweaker settings to show that it's for game and (for JP) patch updates

6.0.5.6 (6-16-2021)

- (JP Only) Small bugfix for the patcher where it could, in rare cases, erronously say you had a large number of files out of date.

6.0.5.5 (6-15-2021)

- Small bugfix for ELS.

6.0.5.4 (6-15-2021)

- New patch system: ELS (Yes, this is a Gundam 00 reference!) It modifies your local ICE files using a very small patch of only the internal files, but it also backs your ICE files up. When an update comes along, the Tweaker will restore the backups before checking for things. (For those who remember TRANSAM, it's kind of like 2.0 of that.) There are two patch types - Base PSO2 (chonky, 14MB patch) and NGS (smol, 1MB patch). The base PSO2 one may take a bit to apply, but this will not be updated often. The NGS patch will be updated more frequently, but is very small and should apply very quickly.
- You can set these patches to update automatically (default behavior), ask, or never update (not recommended). You can change it in the Tweaker settings, it follows the same setting as "Check for Updates on launch".
- This system will also bring back built-in support for non-English fanpatches! You can change your UI patch language in the Tweaker settings, though you may receive an error until these teams upload their first builds using this new system.
- You can reinstall/force a check for a newer fan patch build by clicking "Reset FanPatch Version" in the PSO2 Tweaker Settings.
- Because of this, the manual patch is no longer needed and will be removed from the plugins list.
- UPDATE: A small number of people are getting black screen issues with PSO2 after applying the ELS patch - If you are, you can uninstall the patch by opening your pso2_bin\data\win32\backup folder and copy/pasting those files into your win32 folder. The Tweaker will notify you when a new patch is available, and that should fix the issue when it releases.
- Fixed a small display bug with updating.

6.0.5.3 (6-11-2021)

- Fixes an issue with saving PSO2/PSO2:NGS settings
- Added some more sanity checks to launching
- Fixes bugs caused by me being way too tired. I'm going to bed.

6.0.5.2 (6-11-2021)

- Fix for launching via Steam/Epic

6.0.5.1 (6-11-2021)

- TransAmBurst (The NA updater) has had a major overhaul and rewrite. It's much more stable and faster. In some cases, depending on your disk speeds, people saw increases of up to 1,200% on the hashing speeds!
- Added a check for a rare issue that could cause the Epic version to not launch correctly.
- PSO2 Settings for NA have been updated to match the new graphical settings.
- Show a message when trying to use the proxy feature of the Tweaker. This doesn't work anymore, but we're working on something to replace it.

- Launching the Global (Steam) verison of the game is now fixed.

6.0.4.5 (6-8-2021)

- (JP Only) Updating is now fixed and works with NGS!
- (JP Only) Launching with NGS is now fixed.
- The above fixes are for the Japanese version only!. The Global version of the update has not yet been released.
- Once it is, I'll see if I need to fix anything on that side. That fix may require another Tweaker update. Hang tight!

6.0.4.4 (5-28-2021)

- Item translation is now fixed (and will also work with NGS)! JP players can enable it to see items (and their descriptions) in English!
- Added a workaround for IPv6 users with broken connections (Thanks AT&T)
- JP Troubleshooting buttons now match their functions ("Full File Check" and "Check For Missing Files")
- Fix for Ship Status

Some additional information about the item patch:

- You cannot (yet) search for items in English through the Visiphone. This will come soon in an update.

6.0.4.0 (3-31-2021)

- Added a new system to download/patch NA versions of PSO2, since the old patchserver is dead.
- Changed "New Method" and "Legacy Method" to "Full Filecheck" and "Check for missing files only", only for NA.
- You can now move the main form by clicking and dragging on the background.

6.0.3.9 (3-17-2021)

- Added a bandaid fix for sudden changes to the NA patch system. It's a one-time 40MB download that the program will perform for you.
- This is a -required- update for NA, the game will give you a version error if you do not update the Tweaker.

6.0.3.8 (3-5-2021)

- Added new JP options for Texture Resolution and Texture Quality.
- Fixed an issue where SEGA would save your resolution to it's config but also add 1 to the height and width, causing the Tweaker to see it as an invalid resolution because your monitor doesn't list it. No, I don't know why.
- Fixed a bug preventing saving NA settings from working.
- Fixed an issue where having no plugins enabled would throw an error.

6.0.3.7 (3-4-2021)

- Added a message when a manual patch update is downloading to reassure the user that nothing is wrong

- Removed a flag that was causing the Tweaker to appear as a false positive with one certain antivirus
- Small bugfixes

6.0.2.9 (9-30-2020)

- The update after I removed unsupported JP settings, they become supported. They are now enabled again.

6.0.2.8 (9-27-2020)

- Fixes various issues with the censor not working for some people if they patched outside of Tweaker
- You can now select different languages for different patches in the JP version. For example, you could use English text, Spanish item names, Korean title names, and Russian block names if you wanted (or any other variation of them!)
- The settings for the PSO2JP version will no longer show unsupported text size rendering options

6.0.2.7 (8-21-2020)

- Fixed an issue with the mods code that could throw an error (but not actually break anything)
- Modified the censor code so that it downloads the modded checksum file if you didn't have one at all (which should never happen but somehow... did?)

6.0.2.6 (8-20-2020)

- The NA Episode 3 Poster fix is now integrated into the Tweaker and checked at launch.
- Tweaker (NA Steam) will now check for Steam and try to open it if it's not open.
- The censor will no longer be deleted for NA, but replaced with one (on game start) that only censors parts of RMT spam (and nothing else). This is a stopgap measure until we can create a better method to deal with them. Hang tight!
- Tweaker will now ask if you want to continue installing if you don't have enough space instead of denying you outright.
- Changing your resolution while having virtual fullscreen is now disabled (since Virtual Fullscreen ignores it).
- Fixed an issue where it would falsely detect a Windows Store install under rare circumstances. (This did not break anything)
- NA mods are now supported in the /mods/ folder (just like JP)

6.0.2.5 (8-9-2020)

- Bugfix for the bugfix for removing the censor for pure steam installs during updating, caused by .NET being a terrible language. Thanks, Microsoft!

6.0.2.4 (8-9-2020)

- Bugfix for removing the censor for pure steam installs - The censor will also now be checked for (and deleted) at game launch.

- Fixed an issue that could cause the Tweaker to loop while converting a Steam install.
- Added the new HD UI scaling under the "Text Size" selection in PSO2 Settings. Shiny!

6.0.2.1 (8-5-2020)

- Added support for the North American (Steam) version.
- Added support for hotswapping between the MS version and Steam version with one install.
This means you don't need to download anything through steam if you have the tweaker already set up.
- More information about how to do this can be done by clicking here.

6.0.2.0 (7-14-2020)

- Hotfix: Reverted the removal of the launcher fix - This is still required for MS store installs using the old method and so it will stay for now (and likewise the Tweaker will stay open again)

6.0.1.9 (7-14-2020)

- Steam Mode now acts normally for NA. If you want to use Steam with PSO2, you should checkmark this in the settings.
- The Tweaker will no longer stay open after launching PSO2 unless Steam Mode is turned on. This was done for the launcher fix and is no longer needed.
- The Tweaker will no longer copy/rename pso2launcher.exe or pso2.exe. This was done for the launcher fix and is no longer needed.
- The Tweaker now has an opt-in, off by default function that will upload user's item cache files so we can build a database of all the items in the game. This will allow us to improve current marketplace lookup tools and support a future public website project for it. If you'd like to help out, check the Tweaker options! More information is available on our discord.
- Various bugfixes

6.0.1.8 (6-20-2020)

- Fixed a rare bug that could cause a loop when trying to install the NA version while using the new powershell script so you don't have to download the entire game again if you have it from the Windows Store.

6.0.1.7 (6-15-2020)

- New code to account for SEGA's weird and wonky code for FPS values. Long story short, any values that are set for the FPS over 59 are approximate and become wrong very quickly. For example, the JP launcher sets 60 FPS in the config for 60 FPS. But the engine actually locks it to 59 FPS. Setting the config to 90 locks the game to 85. Setting it to 120 locks the game to 100. Crazy. Even crazier is that the higher your FPS is, the faster the game loads.
- In order to change the FPS to what we actually want, the Tweaker will now set the FPS in the config to the closest approximation it can.
This means that, in the config, the Tweaker will set the following values:
desired value -> what it sets in the config (max FPS possible)
60 FPS -> 60 (max: 59)
90 FPS -> 101 (max: 92)
120 FPS -> 136 (max: 125)
144 FPS -> 160 (max: 144)
This applies to both versions of the game, and I'm not sure how it was never noticed until now. Crazyness all around.

6.0.1.6 (6-12-2020)

- Bugfix for Troubleshooting -> Fix PSO2 EXEs which could, under rare circumstances, crash the Tweaker entirely and make it sad.

6.0.1.5 (6-11-2020)

- Implemented "-pso2na" and "-pso2jp" flags so you can launch whichever version you want via the command line (or steam, for example)
- Implemented the gamepad toggle in PSO2 settings, so you can use your controller when the game is not in focus (JP client only!)
- Implemented a proper fix for future updates for NA
- Switching between the versions now does a quick check to make sure you're up to date on the game (for both) and plugins (for JP)
- Changed PHANTASYSTARONLINE2 default install location to PHANTASYSTARONLINE2_JP and PHANTASYSTARONLINE2_NA, respective of which version you're installing
- Fixed a few bugs

6.0.1.4 (6-10-2020)

- A change in how the NA server is structured has caused the Tweaker to ignore the update - This has been fixed.
- You may need to go to Troubleshooting -> New Method is the update is not detected.

6.0.1.3 (6-10-2020)

- A small amount of users had an issue where the Tweaker incorrectly used more CPU than intended while PSO2 was open, due to the reddit fix. This has been fixed.

6.0.1.2 (6-10-2020)

- Small bugfix to ensure updating PSO2NA goes smoothly (if they do update it today!)

6.0.1.1 (6-3-2020)

- Added a secondary command to launch the game if the first doesn't. This may fix launching the game for a small amount of people.

6.0.1.0 (6-2-2020)

- The PSO2 Tweaker now supports installing the game from outside of the Microsoft Store!
- This means you can install it from scratch using the Tweaker, anywhere you want and on any drive.
- This also *theoretically* prevents the Windows Store from nuking it
- Please note that, for now, *you still need the Windows Store installed to launch the game* (which is done through Tweaker).
- You can find a detailed guide to setting this version up here - Rewrote some of the launch code to be more efficient

6.0.0.9 (5-31-2020)

- Added more permission workarounds to the permissions fix that have been proven to fix people's games. Try it out!
- Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented the game from launching when you didn't have a PSO2 user configuration yet.

6.0.0.8 (5-31-2020)

- Fixed a bug where, in certain rare conditions, an invalid monitor could be selected from the Settings page.
- The Tweaker will now warn you if an invalid monitor is selected when you try to launch the game.

6.0.0.7 (5-31-2020)

- The tweaker will now properly check for corrupted files and patch the game even if MS Store stupidity makes you have double the amount of files you're supposed to have because ???
- Basically, this means that if the Troubleshooting -> New Method didn't fix your issue (black screen, forever loading) before, it very likely will now.
- You can now select the default monitor for PSO2 NA to start on. Sorry JP players, your client doesn't support this (yet?).
- Various bugfixes.
- General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.

6.0.0.6 (5-31-2020)

- There was no version 6.0.0.5. We don't talk about it. It never existed... probably.
- Made the GameGuard code now also download, patch, and update GameGuard since apparently GameGuard can't do it itself.
- Added extra information about some errors codes (which are related to the windows store or permission errors) when launching the game. - Various bugfixes (including a fix to the GameGuard code)

6.0.0.4 (5-30-2020)

- A change in how the NA patch server hosted GG prevented the Fix GameGuard code from working as intended. This has been fixed.
- If your game just doesn't launch, you should go to Troubleshooting -> Fix GameGuard -after- updating the Tweaker.

6.0.0.3 (5-29-2020)

- Various bugfixes related to updating and launching the game
- Added some text to indicate that it may appear like QUANTUM locked up. It doesn't. Really. Stop staring at it like that.

6.0.0.2 (5-29-2020)

- The Tweaker can now launch PSO2NA by itself (even though it's technically launching it through the microsoft store, which is still required... for now).
- Various bugfixes

6.0.0.1 (5-28-2020)

- Fix for plugins not staying selected/enabled when using JP mode.

6.0.0.0 (5-28-2020)

- The PSO2 Tweaker now has preliminary support for PSO2 NA!
- You can now switch between playing on JP and playing on NA seamlessly. You will need to reselect your JP game folder.
- If you only play on JP, feel free to decline this update and accept the next one, as there may be bugs with the new system.

5.1.0.5 (3-30-2020)

- Fixed the EQ system since all the ships have the same EQs now
- General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.

5.1.0.4 (2-8-2020)

- Fixed a rare bug that could prevent updating the game correctly after a recent update from SEGA.

5.1.0.3 (1-29-2020)

- Fixed a bug that could cause the Tweaker to spawn offscreen (only affected the previous version, 5.1.0.2)
- Really fixed the bug that was supposed to be fixed in the previous version because Windows sucks.

5.1.0.2 (1-26-2020)

- SIGNIFICANT speedup when building the list of files to download for an update. Yes, that much of a speedup that it required CAPS.
- Fixed a rare bug that could prevent updating the Tweaker from working correctly.

5.1.0.1 (12-25-2019)

- Fixed a rare issue with the Tweaker updater that occured on XP and older systems or ones with linux tools that replaced Windows default ones.
- Optimizations to the patchlist building should allow for the QUANTUM system to go a bit faster when building the list of files to download.

5.1.0.0 (12-18-2019)

- Tons of bugfixes, optimizations, and speedups.
- Tweaker will attempt to use as many connections as possible to multithread the downloading - This means that if your connection is stronk, you should download the patch faster, sometimes exponentially!

5.0.0.4 (10-2-2019)

- Various bugfixes, better error dialogs, some enhancements

5.0.0.3 (5-21-2019)

- Added better error handling for weird fonts that fake being TrueType fonts
- Fixed an issue where the "Start PSO2" button font was not loaded correctly.

5.0.0.2 (5-21-2019)

- The Tweaker now supports theme customization! You can change an obnoxious amount of images, colors, and more by going to Tweaker Settings -> Theme Settings. You can also download the original assets (to make your own theme), or premade themes by clicking "Download Themes" in the Theme menu.

5.0.0.1 (5-6-2019)

- Added modding support! Drop your mods in a "mods" folder in pso2_bin (so PHANTASYSTARONLINE2/pso2_bin/mods/), and click "Check for PSO2 updates" to instantly synchronize it. It'll install any mods, and put the original files in the backup folder. When it checks for updates, the backup (original) files will be put into win32, checked like normal, then after the update, the mods in the /mods folder will be copied back into win32. Easy peasy!
- Removed the Reshade plugin since Reshade now works with the Tweaker out of the box.
- Re-added the removal/restoration of the openings videos in the PSO2 settings, and updated these to work with the latest opening.

5.0.0.0 (5-4-2019)

- Tweaker got a shiny new coat of paint!
- Lots of improvements across the board, bugfixes, and filesize reductions.
- The old faithful options button is now gone. Those options have been mostly moved to the Troubleshooting button.
- Speaking of the troubleshooting button, it's replacing that Modifications button that no one has used since 2013.
- The .NET Framework decided that 100 seconds before timeout was a good idea. They're wrong. We've changed it to 20 seconds.
- The plugin menu (and the backend) have been updated to support more things, along with more (WIP but almost done!) plugins.
- Plugins (and their associated files) will only download/check if you have them enabled. Save that bandwidth!
- Please note that, along with this change, the "disabled" plugins folder is now deprecated and no longer used. Any plugins in there will be removed.
- Speaking of plugin updates, both the item and block plugins have been updated to translate more of their respective things.
- For those curious, that means the item tekker speech and the block name in the right corner of the screen.
